Membership of PATBF allows you to place 1/3 A5 leaflets in the TIC and advertise any of your special offers and events on www.padstowlive.com
Website
A website entry is free to all members. All accommodation members can amend all of their details except photos. Non- accommodation businesses can either request a log on from Sian or send her the amendments. Each record can have up to 6 photos. Email them to Sian (sianhowells@btconnect.com) to be uploaded.
*New* Digital Marketing
We have teamed up with IKandi Media to offer all members a new marketing opportunity. IKandi will put together a video montage of all the interested businesses which will play on a continuous loop in the TIC window (day and night) and will be uploaded to www.padstowlive.com and youtube. This will tap into a whole new market for many of our members. It allows you to showcase your business through our website in a way that photographs alone cannot do. Each member will get about 30 seconds of footage although some members will require less and some more.
Montages will be put together to go onto the different pages of the website e.g. an accommodation montage, eating out, shopping, local attractions and activities etc.
The DVD in the TIC will change each month. This means that you can "come onboard" later but you may not feature in the website montage. This would need to be negotiated with IKandi at the time.
This is not exclusive to Padstow, IKandi will put together footage of all the areas. Obviously to make it worthwhile we require adverts from those areas.
If you wish, you can liaise with them to have your footage editted so that you can put it on your own website. There may be an additional charge for this, you will need to liaise direct with IKandi.
The price will be £150 per business. This breaks down as £120 (£100 +VAT) for IKandi and £30 per anum for the TIC. However smaller businesses e.g. taxi firms with less footage will cost less and bigger businesses that require more video time will be more. In these instances we will negotiate direct with the individual business. It is important to note that this is a significant discount for TIC members from the normal IKandi cost. If you reuse the same footage next year then you will only need to pay the TIC cost. If IKandi have already shot footage for you at your expense, this will also reduce your advertising fee.

Email Marketing
We use "mailaway" software so that we can directly target our customers. The first mail shot was sent in October 2010 to advertise autumn and winter breaks and push the Christmas Festival. There will be another mail shot in January to advertise the new holiday guide, spring breaks, valentine's day, mothering Sunday etc.
The emails will predominantly drive people towards the website and in particular the special offers.
You can use this software yourself. Each campaign costs £10 plus 2p per email address. If you wish to start your own mailing list, contact Sian who will give you some code for your website. You will need to mention somewhere that their details will be made available to Padstow TIC. When we send out our mail shots we will use your mailing list as well.

Special Offers
You can advertise your special offers and last minute availability on Padstow live using the special offers feature.
When you log in to update, you can find the special offers tab in the “edit product” section. In the “package” box select which category you would like your offer to appear under. Type your offer into the text box beside it and press apply. This will appear on the special offers page on www.padstowlive.com and also at the bottom of your listing. Don’t forget to delete the offer when it is no longer applicable. You need to click on the cross to delete it. Just removing the text will leave a blank box on the special offer page.
All accommodation providers have a log in. Non accommodation members can either request a log in or send their offers to sian (sianhowells@btconnect.com). Accommodation providers who also have entries under the eating out section should also be able to edit their restaurant details.
N.B. Due to the popularity of the special offers, we have restricted them to 2 entries per business/record, to make it fair for everyone.
IPhone/IPad/IPod Applications
As well as working on turning the Padstow Guide into an application, the company that run our website and database are looking into turning the website into an application. At this stage we have no time scale and are unsure whether there will be a cost implication. There is no cost implication for turning the Padstow Guide into an application. It will be available as an application download from the company we currently use for website downloads.
If you wish, we can upload a facebook badge to one of our pages. An example of this is on the home page of Padstow live
To get badge:
Go to edit page (on the left by your photo)
At the bottom of the right hand column below promote with a badge is “get badge”
On the far right go to “edit badge”
Select 2 columns, name & status but not picture or fans.
